What's For Supper? 5/2/13

While I work outside in the garden, my crock pot is my best friend! This is my basic 3 ingredient pulled pork recipe. You can use your bread machine to make nice rolls, the timing is almost exact, or pick some up in town. You can also spice it up to your familys taste! I loved this with Mr. Pibb, but alas, yankees don't have it :(. So I use root beer instead.
Pic shows, 1 pulled pork sandwich on toasted roll, carrots & hash browns. Salad was on the side.

Dog With No Name

And a 'Hemingway' Cat. Both were found here as strays. Colleen named the kitten 'Thor'. We only just found the dog. He was wet, cold hungry and filthy. so I bathed him and fed him. He is very sweet, gets along with everyone and listens well. Follows me everywhere! But, sadly, i haven't found a name to fit him. I am not even sure what breed(s) he is. I took these pic of him, and the other 2 dogs had to get in the shots, and in the one with the Shep., you can see how small he is compared. His feet are clean, but his salt & pepper fur makes them look muddy! I have seen an increase of animals dumped out here, lately. Too bad I can't keep them all.

Blast from the Past!

The calendar says it is spring, despite the snow on the ground. So, I start cleaning. Look what I found WAY in the back of the pantry, behind some cans of spray paint. No clue how it got there or why. Date on can July 2000! My babies loved this stuff. Now of course, they are mature Spaghetti0 eaters!

So Far Behind!

I have been busy making cards for OWH and taking care of postings over at Free Digital Stamps and dealing with cleaning my MIL's house out. When someone passes away, you learn just how much of a pack rat they were! Now I know Tom comes by it honestly! I also had a huge soy order to fill for my 'sis' Lizz, in Arkie land. She opened another business. I will share more on that later. For now..how about what is crossing my lane today? From the woods to the horse pasture. Guess they like the open fiels once in awhile. I will also start back posting my 'What's for Supper' series soon. Thanks to all my followers for hanging in with me during this time.

OWH Midweek Throwdown Feb. 20 2013

It's Wednesday again! And this weeks challenge for OWH Midweek is, FUN FOLDS! I really enjoy the challenge of making these types of cards. As a matter of fact, the second tri-fold card I made, I made for Sandy, President of OWH for her BD!
Since then I have made a few more, Circus was a favorite! Anyhoo.. So I was working on another card for the Boot Camp Focal Point, when I got the notice about the fun fold card, and decided to combine the 2. I do not know what to call this, but it is A2 size and lined inside. It is kinda like the envelopes with the buttons & you close with string in a figure 8. Sorry for the horrid pics, lighting bad and camera is being cranky. Recipe below.
Recipe:
Kraft Card Stock-4x12, score @ 11" & 5 1/2". Corners rounded and inked with Cats Eye 'Albaster'
Layer 1- White stock 5 1/4x3 7/8
Layer 2- Patterned Paper 5x3.75
1' Strip of coordinating stock(light purple)Topped with 1/4" of PP. MS Punch.
Used paper piercer to punch all around card.
1 4 1/2" Doily cut in 1/2
Hummingbird-Cut @ 2 1/2" from Lyrical Letters, using Wausau 'white gold metallic' embossed with Damask #5, & popped up with 'precious'
Random sheer ribbon & flower
Walmart ribbon, attached through small slits (The inside liners cover them)Then topped with the buttons from Nana's button box, & attached with Glue Dots
*I need to trim that ribbon still*
I also had the idea to attach a small tag, with a sentiment to ribbon/flower, but left it off for now.
