Happy Birthday Sandy!

Sandy our fearless leader over at Operation Write Home is celebrating her *cough* 29th Birthday!!! I made this silly tri fold card (my 2nd one) and mailed it out. I am pleased it got from NJ to Washington State in time. Now that she has gotten it, i can share pics!

I heat embossed and added, a balloon, candles, bow, bling & a flower! Above was an insert I made on separate card.* If you make a trifold card for OWH, you'll need to add a Blank insert, so they have a place to include a note*
Happy Birthday Sandy! Don't forget to see yesterdays post for your smoked brisket supper!
Thanks for looking!

Misty, What a nice card. A lot of effort and love went into this one, I can tell. I love the paper you picked also. Those candles look real, are they? If so maybe she can use them on her cake. LOL Have a great week.

Awww! What a touching sentiment and very very impressive card! I have still never even attempted to make one of those cards, but always admire those who do create them! THey just look hard and like they must be a ton of work...they scare me! LOL!

I'm sure Sandy was very happy and I'm happy to hear your card arrived in great shape!! You are so sweet!!!

Happy Crafting,
Lis

@ Carol, Thanks, And no, it actually took longer to design the insert in PSP than it took to make the actual card, minus embellishments.

@ Donna, Thanks, i don't have much paper to choose from LOL! And yes real mini bd candles! I only used 2 she will need 27 more and another for luck!
The balloon is just a green water balloon, perfect size!

@ Lisa
Trust me.. since I don't have much in supplies, I have utubed like crazy & if you want, I will send you my fav links to making this card, it really isn't that hard! As a matter of fact OWH also has a tut on this...

For me the hardest is matching the papers. Try one, I 'gaooorentee' you will be hooked! This is only my second try.
'GREAT? Shape" I don't know. Sandy only said she got it. I put 3 .37 ¢ stamps on it and wrote 'PLEASE HAND CANCEL' in red for my rural driver.

@ Misty
Thanks. The paper is the only small stack I own by DCWV, I bought it at ACMoore before I was downed out of my job, so I am trying to conserve!
Now if I were to try this again, I might try to cut the candles in 1/2 length wise to save on bulk. It is an A2 card & DID fit into envelope, but it was tight. and I still don't know if it actually made it intact, meaning candles not crushed! But it got there on time..lol!
