What's For Supper.

  Combining the store sale (BOGO), manufactures coupon, and coupon on package, I paid less than $2, for 2 packages of Johnsonville® Brats. 5 brats per package. The use by dates were pretty close so I decided to grill them off (figure 1), use some for supper and freeze some for supper another day.

  While they were grilling, I made my sauce in a DO (Recipe below). Brought the sauce to a boil & added brats.(figure 2) Take it down to a simmer for an hour or so.

Recipe for;
Bratwurst A’ La Beer
1 onion, sliced or diced
1 tbsp. Worcestershire® sauce
1 c. ketchup
2 tbsp. Vinegar
1 c. chili sauce
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Garlic
1 tsp. Hot Pepper Flakes
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. paprika
All the above are more/less to taste, I never really measure.
2 cans beer
Grilled brats

Put onions, 1 beer & other ingredients in Dutch oven. Add sausages. Drink 1 beer. Simmer, 60 minutes. Serve on buns or plate as a meal with veggie, salad & bread. Great to serve at party’s from crockpot or chafing dish. Sauce can be used for many types of dishes.
