My family loves this caramel popcorn. It is way better and cheaper than store bought. I use small plastic gift or bakery bags from the Dollar store to package as gifts. This batch I added chocolate chips after cooling stage. Recipe is below.
Makes 2 gallon ziploc bags full, adjust as you need.
Preheat oven to 200°
Make 3 batches of popcorn (I use stove top)
1/4 cup oil, 1/3 cup popcorn per batch x 3.
Pick out duds.
1 cup butter
2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
Over medium heat, mix first 4 ingredients & boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda. Mix well. Pour over pop corn. Stir to coat well. Bake in large pan for 1 hour, stirring every 10 minutes. Spread on wax or parchament paper to dry.
